BUILDING PERMITS
Building permits are required prior to beginning:
- any type of construction or remodeling/renovations project,
- moving a manufactured home, modular, or portable building,
- installation of electrical wiring, mechanical equipment, plumbing piping, or gas piping,
- re-roofing, or
- demolitions.

MANUFACTURED HOME PERMITS
Manufactured homes must be a Wind Zone 2 or 3. To start the permit process you will need the year, model, HUD number, and size of the manufactured home.
UTILITY PERMITS
Utility permits are required prior to installing utilities in Parish Road Rights-of Way. Complete uitility permit applications and deposits (when applicable) must be submitted to the Parish Engineer. HEAVY HAULER PERMITS
Heavy hauler permits must be aquired by contacting the Public Works Office in Oberlin, LA at 337-639-4328.
CULVERT PERMITS
Installation of culverts for private crossing of public drainage ditches require a culvert permit. Culvert permits can be obtained by contacting the Public Works Office in Oberlin, LA at 337-639-4328. Culvert permits are obtained at no cost. The owner is required to purchase the culvert size as approved by the Allen Parish Police Jury. The culvert can be installed by the Allen Parish Police Jury at a cost of $20/foot.
